1. What is unlocking/simlock?
WHAT IS LOCKED?
A gsm can be locked the SIM is NEVER locked!!
The SIM itself is NEVER locked: you can use it in any compatible cellular phone.
HOW TO KNOW IF PHONE IS LOCKED?
Only phones bought in a "package", together with a SIM, can be locked. If the phone is locked, it is always written on the box (legal reasons)! If you have to sign a contract before they let you take the phone home, it is likely to be NOT locked. But if you don't have to legitimate yourself at all, it is probably locked.
A phone is likely to be locked if:
- it is really cheap
- you didn't even have to tell your name in the shop (e.g. prepaid).
A phone is likely NOT to be locked if:
- it is really old (Nokia 2110 etc.)
- you signed a contract to pay abonnement for at least a year (and it is not a special network provided phone)
- if you buy a loose phone without a sim.
But only by trying with a different SIM you can be sure. The simcard or the phones won't damage from this.
WHAT SORTS OF LOCK ARE THERE?
- lock phone to SIM
- lock phone to OPERATOR (network lock)
- lock phone to CODE (product lock = offer lock)
If your phone is locked to the sim you cannot use any other sim than the one you have: SIM broken makes phone useless.
If your phone is locked to an operator, you can use any SIM from this operator in your phone. You can switch between contract and prepaid as you wish, but not to a different operator.
If your phone is locked to a code, the phone checks a special "password" (GID) on the SIM that must match your phone. Providers often use different passwords for contract and prepaid.
Note: a phone can have more than 1 lock active at the same time! (BUT Never has 4 locks locked if you buy it; if that is so then there is something wrong; it doesn't except any simcard!!)
So unlocking is:
Removing the locks on the phone so you can use the phone with any compatible simcard.
SO unlocking is tampering with the software??
-It can be, most program to unlock on the internet change some data in the phone software other just make a log and calculate unlock code. You will have to type the unlock code with special code in your phone to unlock it.
2. Is it legal?
Yes unlocking is legal in all country's that I know of. Changing IMEI or having the flash files from phones is not legal in some country's. If you want to be 100% sure that you can't be harmed use 'Read unlock codes' option, then not 1 byte in the phone it's software get's changed. To be 100% sure what the rules are in your country you have to check it for yourself.
3. Only Motorola phones?
Yes this server only works with Motorola phones. There is a similiar site like this one for Sonyericsson unlocking/flashing/decustomizing also. The url for that site is; www.UnlockEquipment.com. That is also a Gsm-Software.net project and works on the Davinci server. Another service works for Alcatel phones; UnlockAlca.com. Most Alcatel phones can be unlocked by code (no cable needed except the Exxx models).
4. Is my phone supported?

5. What is a client/logger?
A client or a logger is the same thing. It's a computer program which communicates with the server, the user (you) and the phone connected to your computer. You run this program on your computer and have to fill out a username and password to use all of it's functions. You have to pay for the username and password. You can order these at Instant credit order page.
6. How does it all work?
Well I will explain this as simple as possible. The client software needs a login which you buy online at this site. When you have the login you fill this out in the client software. Then you press connect, the software connects over the internet with a special server and it checks if your login is valid if it is it sends confirmation and all functions in the client software get unlocked. Now you want to unlock your phone. You chose your phone from the dropdown list, then you chose what you want to do(for example 'direct unlock') and press 'start'. The software will read some info from your phone send it to the server, there some calculations are made and results are send back to the client. The client processes this information and sends it to the phone. Now the phone is unlocked.
7. What cable do I need and where to get it?
You will need a standard usb cable (the one that is included in the box when you buy the phone). Because you are going to use a usb cable you have to install drivers for this cable. You can find this drivers at the downloads page
If you do not have this cable you can buy it from us. For now go to contact site to ask us for the cable. You can also buy it in every electronic store and ebay. It's often the same cable as used to connect digital (video) camera's to a pc.
8. My phone (action) is not supported and I bought credit(s) what to do?
You should have read better we did not made a unlock guide and manuals for no reason. You will NOT get a refund as the logins are not re-usable. You can do with the phone whatever action is supported or you can use the login for another phone from a friend or whatever. You can even sell the login if you want. You can also wait and hope the action you want to do will be added in new client versions.
9. I don't have Paypal what to do?
If you do not have an Paypal account this is not a problem! All you need is a valid creditcard. At the Paypal payment site there is a button in the middle of the page. 'If you do not currently have a PayPal account -click here-' Click that button. Then you will be asked to fill out all creditcard info. Note that this is an secure site! You can also subscribe to paypal if you like. If you really do not want to pay using Paypal go to the contact site. We do accept Western Union and banktransfer but price will be higher!
10. I can't get it working/I got an error what do to?
First of all go to the downloads page and read the tutorials / manuals. Likely your answer can already be found there. If you still have trouble, collect as many data as you can (screenshots etc) and go to contact site. Tell us as much details as you can! (If you have screenshots just email to info#drmoto.net, replace # with @). If the error is because our software is not working or the server is down you can get a refund if we can not get it fixed within 10 working days.
11. I get error 10 (driver problems) What to do?
Some people have problems with installing the drivers (Error 10). Together with the programmers and feedback from customers I made a document to help you with the drivers. If you read this document carefully, and follow the instructions you will have no driver problems anymore. Download the document here.
12. When I press Paypal button to order a credit I get 'pay to Gsm-software.net' what is that about?

Please email info@drmoto.net with the following information: Unique paypal id, your primary paypal email address, the date of payment. We will send you teh login manually. *Note, normally we respond within 12 hours but sometimes this can take longer! Watch the news section for away time.
